OPERATION LONE STAR CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY
I am Sylvia Delgado and I am a Texas licensed attorney. I was born in Dallas, Texas to parents who had been migrant workers as youngsters. I am the youngest of five kids and grew up in Oak Cliff. I attended the University of Dallas in my late twenties and early thirties. I traveled all over Europe and studied the Classics. I earned my B.A. in Political Philosophy where I learned to admire the Founding Fathers and adore the US Constitution. I attended and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996 and served as a government attorney in Austin for 15+ years before finding my one true passion in criminal defense. I served as Public Defender in Texarkana for 5.5 years and went out on my own in 2021. I have served thousands of clients at this point and I am presently working providing Operation Lone Star (OLS) legal defense. I was first appointed to represent OLS clients in September 2021 and have represented over 300 clients/confinees.
If your loved one has been arrested in the dragnet that is OLS, I may have been appointed to their case by the courts or LPDO, but I can also now be hired to represent them. Unlike most appointed counsel, I will work to get them out of jail as quickly as humanly possible. I love visiting the border and I am not afraid of going to the jails to visit my clients in person.
I am not going to keep your guy in jail while I fight a Constitutional battle from the comfort of my couch. If there's a fight to be had, let's fight it side-by-side from outside of jail!! You can read more about my efforts to free the 'OLS 300' here:
If your loved one was arrested in Kinney or Val Verde County, your loved one is likely housed at the Segovia or Briscoe Unit. If arrested in Uvalde, Edwards, Jim Hogg, Kimble, Mason, Maverick, McCulloch, or Menard Counties, call me and I can help you find your loved one and discuss their options.
If hired by the family, please understand that I cannot provide information about the clients' cases without their approval. If he or she wants me to talk to family about the case, I will need a letter permitting it.
If you pay me to represent him, he is still the client, you are not. My ethical duty is to him and I am under no requirement to discuss the facts of his case with you. This is for his protection and it preserves his right to attorney-client confidentiality. Please be patient while I work with the client and trust that I am doing all I can to resolve the matter.
I have handled over 300 OLS cases and thousands of other criminal matters as a public defender. I have logged thousands of hours in court. There is no better day for me than a day spent in trial. At my law office, we know the Border Prosecution Unit (BPU) prosecutors and have excellent working relationships with every single one of them. We are familiar with the Judges, their staff, how the local Courts operate, and we understand each jurisdiction. I will talk you through it and help you understand and plan for what comes next.
