TEXARKANA, BOWIE COUNTY CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY. ALL TEXAS STATE CRIMES
TEXARKANA, BOWIE COUNTY CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY. ALL TEXAS STATE CRIMES
I grew up in Dallas but now live in the north-east corner of Texas in Bowie County. I was a Public Defender for 5.5 years in Texarkana and I have represented clients in all Texas criminal cases except Capital Murder. I have represented women in two Murder trials and many young men in Armed Robbery cases, Sexual Assault allegations and Drug Possession charges. I love going to trial and can help you with any of these types of charges:
I am Sylvia Delgado and I am a Texas licensed attorney. I am a fourth generation Texan from Dallas, born during the economically booming 1960s. I am the youngest of five kids and grew up in Dallas's southwest annex, called Oak Cliff. We all worked mostly blue collar jobs and helped run the family trucking business. My first vote was for Ronald Reagan in 1980 and I am a proud devout Capitalist.
In my late 20s, my Dad and I rolled up coins to pay for classes at community college. I loved it, and did well, so I transferred to The University of Dallas where I was blessed to travel all over Europe and live in Italy in 1990-91 while studying the Classics, visiting the actual sites I studies all throughout Greece, experiencing the art, while living in Rome. (Wow!) My core curriculum in Political Philosophy was in the "Classics," especially Plato, Aristotle, Nitsche, Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau. I embraced Existentialism via Martin Heidegger. And by my final year I was loving Machiavelli, the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists. I learned to admire the Founding Fathers and understand our U.S. Constitution. I earned my B.A. in Political Philosophy in 1993. I applied for Law School at Baylor and University of Texas. I was accepted to both but attended and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996. I served as a government attorney in Austin for 15+ years as a Hearings Officer at Texas Workforce Commission, drafting laws and going to Court for the Department of Insurance, trial law at Department of Aging and Disability Services, and at the State Bar of Texas's Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, where we took lawyers to court for their unethical conduct.
Finally, I found my one true passion in criminal defense. Beginning 2015, I left "the city" and served as Public Defender in Texarkana for 5.5 years providing indigent defense in the CCL, 5th, 102d and 202d District Courts. I went out on my own in August of 2021 and I have served several thousand mostly low income clients at this point so I will be happy to discuss your charges with you while keeping your budget in mind.
I am no stranger to the Bi-State Jail and I will visit your loved one in jail as soon as I'm hired. I especially work hard for the Mommas and try to step in to their shoes and treat their Son or Daughter with love and respect. I do not believe in delaying the outcome. Let's meet soon and get ready for Court.
All I need is an agreement plus payment to show that I've been hired. I will let the Courts and DA know I am stepping in as your lawyer and I will visit the client in jail (LONG BEFORE COURT) to make sure we are on the same page and either pleading guilty, or nolo contendere, and agreeing to the best plea deal, or, pleading not guilty and getting ready to Fight! Fight!! Fight!!!
Yes. I have been licensed since 1999 and doing exclusively Criminal Law cases since 2015. There is no work I love more than going to trial. My very favorite days have been spent in Court. But I will also tell you when NOT to fight the State's case against you via trial. I do that because trial is not for the weak-hearted. I have seen many strong men weep. It's extremely difficult to "win" with most juries, and I love my clients, their cases, every docket appearance (even when getting hollered at). I will Love and enjoy being your Attorney OR I WON'T TAKE YOUR CASE. My clients don't just like me; they love me. I think a very important part of the evaluation phase is making sure you like me and I like you.

Felony defense attorney providing legal defense in all state crimes
Sylvia Delgado is a graduate of the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SCHOOL OF LAW. Hook 'em horns!
Sylvia attended and graduated from the UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS before that with a bachelor's degree in Political Philosophy.
Miss Delgado was born and raised in Dallas and grew up on the actual mean streets of Oak Cliff. She attended Sunset High School on Jefferson Avenue and left Oak Cliff just as soon as she could although her folks are still there so she can be found in Big D visiting Mom and family ever so often.
Sylvia worked in blue collar jobs--selling auto parts, running her folks' dump truck service, and running warehouses--until she was inspired by her older brother Greg to go to college and improve her status in life but also find something intellectually challenging. Greg is a Civil Engineer who designs the highways and five layer fly-overs Dallas is kind of famous for.
We are blessed to have very smart hard-working parents who always told us we could accomplish anything we set our hearts and minds to.
Well, guess what? Sylvia did just that!
