OPERATION LONE STAR TRIAL LAWYER Texas Human Smuggling
OPERATION LONE STAR TRIAL LAWYER Texas Human Smuggling
If charged with Smuggling of Persons in Texas, know that the law does not require you to pick up undocumented aliens (UDAs) in Mexico and take them over the border, and it does not even require they be from another country! Transporting people-here-illegally is NOT illegal. Taking Grandma to her doctor's appointments is not a crime. So, the State must show you transported people (any people) WITH THE INTENT to hide them from law enforcement. That is true even under the new laws!!
But, first things first: Let's get your loved one out of jail. If your loved one is in jail in Texas, for either Criminal Trespass at the border or Human Smuggling, then you need to get them the best most effective counsel you can afford and do it quick!
Human Smuggling is usually a Class 3 felony punishable by 2 to 10 years in TDC prison. Taking money for doing it would make it a 2d degree and punishable by 2-20 years in prison. And that's for each count! Its possible to negotiate Smuggling cases down to STATE JAIL FELONIES which carry a maximum sentence of two years and a minimum of six months!! I cannot promise that result for you, of course, but it is something we should discuss. Since many of the clients I was appointed to had already served three months in jail awaiting indictment, that's huge.
***If not a US citizen, the client will still need to go through immigration processing and is risking deportation for violating US laws. I DO NOT PRACTICE IMMIGRATION LAW BUT I CAN REFER YOU TO A GREAT IMMIGRATION LAWYER IF YOU NEED HER HELP.
I am Sylvia Delgado and I am a Texas licensed attorney. I was born in Dallas, Texas to parents who had been migrant workers as youngsters. I am the youngest of five kids and grew up in Oak Cliff. I attended the University of Dallas in my late twenties and early thirties, traveled all over Europe and studied the Classics. I earned my B.A. in Political Philosophy where I learned to admire the Founding Fathers and adore the US Constitution. I attended and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996. I served as a government attorney in Austin for 15+ years at various regulatory bodies including the State Bar of Texas's Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel. But I found my one true passion in criminal defense. I served as Public Defender in Texarkana for 5.5 years and went out on my own in 2021. I have served several thousand clients at this point, and I am presently providing Operation Lone Star (OLS) legal defense.
I was first appointed to represent OLS clients in September 2021 and have represented over 450 clients/confinees.
I am dedicated to understanding what results you want and to helping you get there. I want to make sure you understand the process and you are not intimidated by it. It is very manageable to an experienced criminal defense attorney. There are systems in place, and they become routine to the regular participants, but these systems are never routine to the client or his family. That is normal. You are not expected to know these things; I am.
Now would be the time to ask questions and make sure you are being heard!

I am no stranger to the jails and I will visit your loved one within 3 days from the day I'm hired. I especially work hard for the Mommas and try to step in to their shoes and treat their Son or Daughter with love and respect. I do not believe in delaying the outcome. Let's meet soon and get ready for Court.
I am happy to visit my clients in jail. All I need is a signed contract plus payment to show that I've been hired. I will let the Courts know I am stepping in as your lawyer and I will visit the client in jail (LONG BEFORE COURT) to make sure we are on the same page and either pleading guilty, or nolo contendere, and agreeing to the best plea deal, or, pleading not guilty and getting ready to fight, fight, fight!
Yes. I have been licensed since 1999 and doing exclusively Criminal Law cases since 2015. There is no work I love more than going to trial. My very favorite days have been spent in Court. But trial is not for the weak-hearted. I will tell you when NOT to fight the State's case against you at trial. I do that because I love my clients, their cases, every docket appearance (even when getting hollered at) and I will Love and enjoy being your Attorney OR I WON'T TAKE YOUR CASE.
My clients don't just like me; they love me. I think a very important part of the evaluation phase is making sure you like me and I like you.

Hook 'em horns!
Sylvia attended and graduated from the UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS before that with a bachelor's degree in Political Philosophy.
Miss Delgado was born and raised in Dallas and grew up on the actual mean streets of Oak Cliff. She attended Sunset High School on Jefferson Avenue and left Oak Cliff just as soon as she could although her folks are still there so she can be found in Big D visiting Mom and family ever so often.
Sylvia worked in blue collar jobs--selling auto parts, running her folks' dump truck service, and running warehouses--until she was inspired by her older brother Greg to go to college and improve her status in life but also find something intellectually challenging. Greg is a Civil Engineer who designs the highways and five layer fly-overs Dallas is kind of famous for.
We are blessed to have very smart hard-working parents who always told us we could accomplish anything we set our hearts and minds to. Well, guess what? Sylvia did just that!
